DoubleStar Sports: Leading Badminton Coaching and Training in Singapore

Founded by the esteemed Coach Rachel Lim Phei Yee, DoubleStar Sports Pte Ltd (DBTC) has emerged as a beacon of excellence in badminton training. Our journey began with Coach Rachel’s exceptional reputation as a standout badminton coach in Malaysia, where she guided students to triumph in interstate and state competitions.

In 2014, DBTC found its home in Singapore, starting with private and small group training sessions. With a focus on badminton training, coaching, and community support, we seamlessly transitioned to accommodating larger groups, nurturing a culture of excellence and fellowship.

A pivotal moment arrived in 2017 with the introduction of the Elo Challenge, providing our members with a dynamic platform to assess and enhance their skills. However, it was in 2019 that DBTC achieved a milestone of unparalleled significance by clinching victory in the BWF Badminton championship in Dubai. Simultaneously, we organized a highly successful badminton exchange camp in China and ventured into coaching school teams.

Today, DBTC proudly serves a community of 500 students in Singapore, offering specialized badminton training programs tailored to individuals and groups of diverse skill levels. Our commitment extends beyond the court, with fitness and conditioning programs designed specifically for badminton players.

At DBTC, inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. From beginners to competitive players, we welcome participants of all ages and skill levels, fostering a supportive environment for growth and achievement. Collaborations with Singapore educational institutions and corporate entities underscore our dedication to integrating sports training into academic and professional settings.

As we continue to grow, DBTC remains steadfast in our mission to inspire students to excel in regional and national tournaments while expanding our training services to encompass a variety of sports. Join us on this exciting journey towards excellence and empowerment at Doublestar Sports Pte Ltd.

2009

Beggining

Located in a district in southwest Johor, Malaysia, Rachel started her foundation class for beginners and competitive players in a well-used badminton hall. In that same year, DBTC travelled to different province and begin to compete.
2010

Growing

We grew steadily and started to travel interstate for school and state competition. This was our very first travel out of Johor for club matches.
2011

Breakthrough

This was a breakthrough year for us. We debuted in our international competition and fought well in country wide Malaysia tournament. We successfully won some of the top 3 placing.
2012

Expand

We decided to start our own local friendly match play and welcome other clubs to join us for a few games. It was a exhilarating experience!
2013

Overseas expansion

A few foreign clubs heard of us and contacted us to arrange for friendly match play. We are so over the moon and welcomed them to Malaysia warmly.
2014

New base In Singapore

In our fifth year, it was time to start a new base In Singapore. We commenced with private training and small group sessions (<5 players) to get a feel on ground.
2015

Singapore base expanded

Our Singapore base expanded rapidly, and we began building a strong foundation in our backend operation. We also had strong support from parents as well. In this year, we incorporate physical training into our usual skills class as we felt that this is an equally important aspect in badminton.
2016

Big group training

We began our big group training of more than 20 players each session. We had our first assistant coach joining us and helped us gained a stronger foothold in the industry. Beyond the usual badminton training, celebrating festivals and birthday became part of our club’s tradition.
2017

Elo Challenge

3 years of training young players, it was time to put them to test. Elo Challenge is a type of competition where members play matches against each other and move up and down in the ranking as they win or lose.
2018

Offer prevention and rehabilitation

Although badminton is a non-contact sport, those who regularly play can still sustain some injuries. Players are required to frequently flick their wrist, lunge and change direction quickly, which can subsequently cause several overuse injuries. To support our players in reaching the top of the game, we felt that it was important to offer prevention and rehabilitation. Not just this, we had our inaugural End of Year award presentation to recognize players for their efforts.
2019

First BWF competition

An exciting year to remember! We joined our first BWF competition in Dubai and came back home with a champion. We did a badminton exchange camp to China as well. Also, we ventured into coaching school team. Our DBTC app was also launch on this year!
2020

Official partner for Changi Beach Club

We are the official partner for Changi Beach Club!
Covid-19 stopped our lives for a quarter of a year, but we did not let this deter us. Players trained via ZOOM 7days a week. There is never a time to rest on your laurel!
2021

Introducing Gym Facilities and Professional Trainers

This year marked a significant enhancement in our club's offerings. We introduced gym facilities to support our players' fitness needs. Additionally, we brought on board professional trainers to provide personalized coaching and training programs, ensuring our players have the best resources to excel in their sport.
2022

Launching Sports Performance Analysis Services

To further support our players' development, we started offering sports performance analysis services. This cutting-edge service includes video analysis and personalized feedback sessions to help players understand their strengths and areas for improvement, ultimately enhancing their performance on the court. Unlike typical services, our coaches provide these analyses after every match, ensuring all players benefit from consistent and comprehensive feedback.
2023

Growing Together - Company Trips

2023 was significant for our club's growth and community spirit. As our club expanded, we organized our first company trip. These trips are designed to create bonding, celebrate our achievements, and strengthen the bonds among our members. It’s a time for relaxation, team-building, and creating unforgettable memories together.
2024

Exchange Training Program in China

This year, we organized an exchange training and sparring program in China for 20 days. We visited several places, bringing over 20 kids to train and compete in a tournament. This experience not only provided intensive training but also exposed our players to international competition, further enriching their skills and cultural understanding.
